Jeff Robinson, CFI

Director Loss Prevention
Banana Republic Western Zone at Gap Inc.

What are you most excited about in your new position?

Having the opportunity to work with and influence a greater area of responsibility. I get energized working with people and being able to build strong lasting business partner relationships that can help move business in the right direction.

What interested you most in your new role?

Developing people. I absolutely feel that people work for people and want to be developed every day. I feel you can’t win without strong players on the team. Part of my success was due to my team; they are tenured and committed professionals that believe in our strategy and are completely involved in the day in and day out part of the business.

How has being a CFI helped you in your career?

This program helps me stay current and committed to continuing my education. Throughout the years of being CFI certified, I have learned that no case is the same, and with this certification, you can use it to help you gain the truth through multiple approaches.

What are you most grateful for throughout your career?

I am grateful for many things. The first thing that comes to mind is having people believe in me. There is no doubt I have stumbled along the way, but I have had the opportunity to work for many wonderful bosses that have picked me up and helped me through some challenging situations. I have learned from every one of them and would not be here without them.

A little fun facts about you:

If you could trade places for a day with anyone, who would it be?

I go right to trading places with my younger self. I lost both of my parents at a relatively young age and wish that I had some of those days back to show my love, gratitude and appreciation for what they did for me. When we are younger, we tend to take a lot for granted, and I know that’s normal, but now that they are gone, I often wish for one more day with both of them.

If you were stranded on a desert island what 3 things would you bring?

  1. A smart and willing companion
  2. A sleep number bed
  3. A boat to get us off the island

What’s your favorite movie?

The terminator trilogy, I guess that’s 3 movies, but you can’t go wrong with any one of those.
