Why did you become a Certified Forensic Interviewer (CFI)?
I became a CFI so that I could help the decision makers I support ensure that the decisions they make are based on excellent information.
What is the most valuable tool you have learned from being a CFI?
The comfort of having reliable steps in an interview process is extremely valuable. I love knowing what’s coming next and what to do if things don’t go quite according to the textbook plan.
What is the best feature you find beneficial on our new website?
I love learning about other CFI’s on the website to better understand the field as a whole.
Do you use social media? If so which ones?
I do use Linked In to stay in touch with a wide range professional contacts, including other CFIs, but I will only connect with people I have actually met. I have been on the fence about whether to open a Twitter account, although knowing how to view things on it has helped me do research for multiple investigations. I am also still on the fence about Instagram, only because I have not fully explored how it works or whether there are options for privacy settings.
What are you passionate about?
I love my circle of friends, our dogs, live music, classical piano, different languages, and getting better and better acquainted with my “new” hometown – Kansas City.
Who is your favorite actress or actor?
I am a huge fan of Gary Oldman, especially from some of his older character roles like in “True Romance” and “JFK.”
